Itinerary
1. Guest Pickup:
o Time: Pickup begins at 1:45 PM with departure at 2:00 PM.
o Location: Downtown Anchorage Visitors Center. Your guide will brief you on the exciting day ahead.
2. Scenic Drive to Matanuska Glacier:
o After pickup, enjoy a scenic 2-hour drive through the
Matanuska-Susitna Valley, surrounded by stunning mountain ranges and rolling hills.
3. Arrive at Matanuska Glacier:
o Upon arrival, your guide will provide necessary safety gear and a briefing on the hike ahead.
4. Sunset Glacier Hike:
o Set out for your guided hike across the glacier, exploring crevasses, ice caves, and frozen formations while soaking in the warm sunset colors reflecting off the ice.
5. Return to Anchorage:
o After an unforgettable evening of glacier exploration, relax on the return journey to Anchorage, with a scheduled arrival around 9:30 PM.
Check-in Details
Boarding Location: Please be ready 15 minutes before your scheduled departure at the Anchorage Downtown Visitors Center (546 W 4th Avenue). We’ll be parked right in front of the original Old City Hall steps, in the loading zone directly in front of the log cabin. Driver Arrival: If your driver isn’t there exactly on time, don’t worry—they’re just on their way. Please text us only if your driver hasn’t arrived by the scheduled departure time. Calling too early could cause unnecessary delays. Restrooms: Restrooms will not be available until reaching destination at the Matanuska glacier. Please make sure to use Restroom before taking off to the Glacier, It will be a 2 hour drive. Parking: The best parking option is the garage between “A” and “C” Streets, across from Downtown Avis. You pay at the toll gate, so even if there are delays, you won’t risk getting a parking ticket.
