Itinerary

1. Scenic Drive Along Turnagain Arm

o Departure Time: 12:00 PM from Girdwood Station (Gas Station)

o Duration: 10-minute scenic drive

o Enjoy a breathtaking winter drive along Turnagain Arm, one of Alaska’s most beautiful routes. Admire snow-covered mountains, frozen waterfalls, and the gleaming waters of Cook Inlet.

2. Explore the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC)

o Duration: 1-hour self-guided exploration

o Upon arrival at AWCC, you’ll get to observe Alaska’s iconic wildlife up close:

 Bears: Watch them in their natural enclosures, perhaps during feeding time.

 Moose: Spot these towering creatures grazing peacefully.

 Wolves & Foxes: Catch a glimpse of these elusive predators.

 Wood Bison: See these mighty creatures, part of a successful reintroduction program.

 Bald Eagles & Owls: Admire these majestic birds of prey soaring above.

o Wander along scenic pathways while learning about AWCC’s conservation efforts.

3. Return to Girdwood

o Departure from AWCC: Approx. 1:20 PM

o Return to Girdwood Station: Approx. 2:30 PM

o After you arrive catch the Glacier Valley Transit back to your hotel.

How to Get to the Wildlife Express Shuttle: Departure Location: Girdwood Station (Gas Station) at 12:00 PM. Usually the driver will pull up at the Subway. Easy Access: Guests staying at Hotel Alyeska can take the Glacier Valley Transit from the Tram Parking Lot—a 10-minute ride to Girdwood Station. Note: The driver is coming from Anchorage and may be held up by traffic. In this case you will be notified by the office.
